Step 1 in detail: choose your lane
| Lane | Typical retail position | Strength | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aqua socks | Entry price | Highest volume | Price competition |
| Barefoot water shoes | Mid price | Growing search interest | Needs good fit and grip |
| Kids water shoes | Mid price | Family repeat purchases | Children’s product rules in some markets |
| Hiking / creek | Mid–upper price | Outdoor and fishing buyers | Smaller audience |
Logo and branding options
- Heat-transfer logo on the upper: lowest cost, quick to sample.
- Silicone or drip-moulded logo: raised, durable, premium look.
- Rubber patch on heel or tongue.
- Logo on the outsole or insole — needs a mould change for the sole.
- Printed upper with your own graphics on print-ready models.
Samples and approval
Ask for samples in your core sizes, test them in water, and check fit, bonding, grip and drainage (see our sample checklist). Confirm packaging and barcodes at the same time so bulk production is not delayed.
Timing
Samples take about 15 days and bulk about 35 days after approval. Add freight and marketplace check-in time and work back from your selling season — see the buying calendar by country.
Listing your product
Use the words shoppers in your market actually search for — for example “water shoes” in the US, “Badeschuhe” in Germany, “escarpines” in Spain — and state the three features buyers look for: quick-dry, drainage and non-slip.
